PAW MTE 2021 PRESENTS: LEGALLY BLONDE, JR. Based on the award-winning Broadway musical and the smash hit motion picture, Legally Blonde: The Musical JR. is a fabulously fun journey of self-empowerment and expanding horizons. The show's instantly recognizable songs are filled with humor, wit and sass — leaving cast members and audiences alike seeing pink! Legally Blonde JR. follows the transformation of Elle Woods as she tackles stereotypes, snobbery, and scandal in pursuit of her dreams. When Elle's boyfriend, Warner, dumps her and heads to Harvard, claiming she's not "serious" enough, Elle takes matters into her own hands, crafting a showy song-and-dance personal essay and charming her way into law school. Befriending classmate, Emmett, and spunky hairdresser, Paulette, along the way, Elle finds that books and looks aren't mutually exclusive. As Elle begins outsmarting her peers, she realizes that law may be her natural calling after all. This show is rated G by Music Theatre International. |
WHAT TO EXPECT AT PAW MTE In its sixth year running, PAW Musical Theatre Experience (MTE) is excited to share the stage once again. In this rigorously fun workshop, students rehearse and perform in a full musical in one singular week under the direction of theatre industry professionals. This includes learning and memorizing a full libretto and choreography, and having full costumes, lights, and sound. All students registered for this workshop will be in the production and an audition (dates TBA) will determine their role in the production. In addition to this performance-based workshop, PAW MTE now offers a Crew workshop for those interested in technical theatre. |
PAW MTE GOALS
PAW MTE in 2020 In a year like no other, Performing Arts Workshops - PAW INC. had to quickly adapt our workshops to provide a safe arts experience for students throughout Southwestern Michigan and beyond. Due to the pandemic, PAW hosted workshops virtually for the summer. With the assistance of many talented staff members, the dedication of many incredible student artists, and an unwavering passion for the arts, together we persisted and created a PAW MTE like never before. Although we were unable to gather in person as we have in the past, we hold these virtual memories near and dear. Please enjoy our video production of PAW MTE PRESENTS: THE BIG ONE-OH. |
