We are thankful for the many opportunities our students have to build meaningful friendships, make lasting memories, and experience the arts in new and inspiring ways. We are thankful that we can connect with YOU - our community - through the arts!
We meet a great need in the communities we serve and we couldn’t do it without our generous donors. The size of the charitable gift is not important, as generosity comes in many forms. We are extremely thankful for all of our donors!
2020 was our ninth season of PAW, and it was a year like no other. We rose to the challenge of adapting by offering our workshops virtually. We rose to the challenge of supporting our students financially through over $5,000 in scholarships. We continued to offer high-quality instruction with amazing national teaching artists.
Despite the difficult year, PAW accomplished so much, including:
A visit to Chicago: PAW students enjoyed a day of sightseeing and attending a remarkable production of Peter and the Starcatcherat Big Noise Theatre.
Flashback Fridays: PAW offered free virtual performances of all of our past musical productions, bringing our community together apart on summer Friday evenings.
PAW Jr. and PAW Sr.: We hosted virtual workshops on Zoom, through which students focused on individual skills and performed for their community.
The Big One Oh!: PAW’s Musical Theatre Experience workshop produced our very first virtual musical!
PAW Prints and PAW Cubs: We offered FREE online video series to our youngest students, which families enjoyed in their own homes.
Berrien Community Foundation Arts Challenge: PAW joined nine other Berrien County arts organizations in this unique and unifying fundraiser.
Lauren Widner Memorial Scholarship Fund: We successfully launched a new fund in honor and remembrance of Lauren Widner, a former PAW teaching artist.
PAW Fall Pop-Up: We provided in-person, COVID-conscious instruction to our students through dance and drama intensives.
We share all this because we intend to endure this pandemic and we refuse to abandon the needs of our students during these trying times. We intend to persevere and we intend to flourish even more as an organization, an arts nonprofit on a mission to continue to inspire young artists. We already believed arts education and enrichment was essential to the development of children and teens, but we cannot stress the importance of bringing the performing arts to our students during a pandemic and the aftermath. Provide some hope by donating today and help us keep the arts alive!
Truly, despite a rough year for many, we are so thankful for the extra special memories created this year at Performing Arts Workshops (PAW). We implore you to donate to our Thankful for the Arts Campaign TODAY! Help us reach our end of the year fundraising goal of $3,000.
